80-Acre
parcel known as Half Moon Meadow sold to
Daniel L. McElroy creating Groton Center Farms.
The 80-acre parcel, which makes up Groton Center
Farms is mostly the land known as Half Moon Meadow,
which has been pastured and hayed for centuries.
The meadow is recognized in many of Groton's history
books including Virginia May's "Groton Houses"
in which she writes "Half Moon Meadow is the large
meadow running in back of the Inn, back of Charles
Raddin's and rounding to Martin's Pond Road."
And another description "Plus the land in or toward
the "Half Moon Meadow" from Abigail Trowbrige.

| Over
the past three years, the farm has been restored
to its beauty of early 1900. The barn, cows, chicken
coop, with egg layers, apple orchard, peach orchard
and high blueberry bushes. Beautiful pastures abutting
picturesque Gibbet Hill and town center make for
an unforgettable experience of Groton's yesteryear.
